The only real way to make money with this is to waylay nearby carts at a busy intersection and steal their goods, however most of the AI usually only have really low value items so this might not turn up a big profit. Note however there is a cooldown for buildings and sometimes you wont get alot of money from the lowly peasents. Then you create the head of your family, choose their religion, star sign, attributes and class. you can select your town by clicking the town on the map in the top right corner once done choose a mode, Exitinction means you want to be the last man standing, Dynasty ends when your family does, Mission ends when the goals you set are met, and i hope timelimit is self explanatory. this will install the patch you know if this works as when you run the game at the bottom of the title screen it should say 4.17 your steam location is as follows C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Guild 2 Renaissance. when installing you will be asked for a location. if you have the steam version you will need to manually show the patch where to go.
